  3.   PENNAME is designed as a light-hearted aid to assist writers in
  4.   selecting character names or pen names for themselves. The program
  5.   allows you to select the category of name you want (you may pick
  6.   different categories for first and last name), and to try different
  7.   combinations. You may also save names you like in a list of
  8.   "possibilities" to be examined later. The program is distributed
  9.   with a few hundred names supplied, but you will probably want to
  10.   add more names to the data base. Don't worry about duplications;
  11.   there is a built-in duplication preventor. If you wish to change
  12.   the category of an existing name, simply enter it as a new name and
  13.   the categories you select will replace the pervious categories.
  14.   To start the program, you will need these files:

  18.   LAST.DBF
  19.   POSS.DBF
  20.    
  21.   PENNAME then creates these files:
